Shared decision making, oftewel samen met de patiënt een beslissing nemen, is in opkomst. De methode bestaat al sinds de jaren ’60, maar wordt steeds populairder. Hoewel de methode uitermate geschikt is bij screening, gebruiken artsen deze ook bij de behandeling.
