De predictieve validiteit van de Screeningsvragenlijst Stevig Ouderschap

Samenvatting

Om gezinnen met een hoog risico op kindermishandeling vroegtijdig op te sporen werd een actuarieel screeningsinstrument ontwikkeld genaamd Screeningsvragenlijst Stevig Ouderschap. Het doel van deze studie was de predictieve validiteit van dit instrument te onderzoeken en te vergelijken met de predictieve validiteit van een klinische risico-inschatting door een jeugdgezondheidszorg (JGZ)-verpleegkundige. De onderzoeksgroep bestond uit 4.692 gezinnen met een pasgeboren baby. De uitkomstmaat was een melding bij Veilig Thuis gedurende een follow-up periode van 3 jaar. De combinatie van het actuariële instrument met een klinische inschatting leidde tot een hogere predictieve validiteit (Area Under the receiver operating characteristics Curve (AUC) = 0,72) dan een inschatting op basis van alleen het actuariële instrument (AUC = 0,70), maar het verschil was niet significant. De predictieve validiteit van alleen de klinische inschatting was het minst goed (AUC = 0,59). De Screeningsvragenlijst Stevig Ouderschap, al dan niet in combinatie met de klinische inschatting van de verpleegkundige, stelt professionals beter in staat om risico’s vroegtijdig in te schatten en gezinnen door te verwijzen naar vroeg preventieve interventies.
