Het beleid bij urine-incontinentie bij vrouwen

Samenvatting

Sinds jaar en dag krijgen de diagnostiek en behandeling van urine-incontinentie weinig aandacht in de huisartsenpraktijk. Huisartsen hebben weinig vertrouwen in de behandelings­mogelijkheden en patiënten zijn niet altijd gemotiveerd om bijvoorbeeld een plasdagboek bij te houden. In dit retrospectieve cohortonderzoek zagen we dat huisartsen de NHG-Standaard Urine-incontinentie bij vrouwen niet heel strikt volgen en slechts in een minderheid van de gevallen diagnostische hulpmiddelen gebruiken of medicatie of opvangmateriaal voorschrijven. Hier is duidelijk ruimte voor verbetering.
