Samenvatting

Hoofdbonken is een meestal onschuldige ritmische bewegingsstoornis bij kinderen, die zelden voortduurt tot voorbij het vierde levensjaar. Als het op latere leeftijd persisteert, kan het zijn geassocieerd met ontwikkelingsachter­stand, autisme, mentale retardatie, gehoorstoornissen en visusstoornissen of andere psychopathologie. Het beleid bestaat uit uitleg, geruststelling en begeleiding. Medicatie wordt niet aangeraden.
