Samenvatting

Een zwelling van de penis maakt patiënten vaak ongerust. Soms zijn ze bang voor een ernstige ziekte of erectiele disfunctie. Bij een pijnlijke zwelling zal het meestal gaan om een onschuldige zelflimiterende aandoening. De voor huisartsen vrij onbekende ziekte van Mondor is zo’n onschuldige aandoening. Wij beschrijven deze ziekte en bieden handvatten om deze te onderscheiden van aandoeningen waarbij acuut ingrijpen wel nodig is.
