Samenvatting

De Outcome Prioritisation Tool (OPT), ook wel ‘het schuifje’ genoemd, kan een handige gesprekshulp zijn om samen te beslissen met palliatieve oncologische patiënten, zo is gevonden in de OPTion-studie. Deze tool kan ook bruikbaar zijn voor andere patiëntengroepen met complexe problematiek. Mariken Stegmann en Annette Berendsen adviseren naar aanleiding van hun onderzoek om de OPT te introduceren in de praktijk, te gaan gebruiken en ermee te oefenen. Omdat de patiënt hier niet zelf mee komt, moet de dokter het initiatief nemen. Dat wordt gewaardeerd en kan helpen bij de besluitvorming.
