Very Brief Advice bij behandeling van rookverslaving

Samenvatting

Voor veel huisartsen is het geen dagelijkse routine om patiënten te stimuleren om te stoppen met roken. Dat komt onder andere omdat het tijdrovend is en de relatie met hun patiënt kan verstoren. Een niet-confronterende methode, Very Brief Advice (VBA), kan een eenvoudige en snelle eerste stap zijn om patiënten te helpen het roken op te geven. Huisartsen vinden deze aanpak efficiënt, patiëntvriendelijk en eenvoudig toepasbaar. Voorlichting en trainingen zijn nodig om huisartsen aan te zetten om VBA in de dagelijkse praktijk te gebruiken.
