Hartinfarct bij vrouwen, een diagnose met vertraging

Samenvatting

Een obstructie door atherosclerose in de coronaire vaten veroorzaakt zowel bij mannen als bij vrouwen de kenmerkende klachten van een myocardinfarct. Bij vrouwen heeft coronaire atherosclerose echter vaker dan bij mannen een niet-obstructief karakter. Dit andere patroon van atherosclerose leidt tot andere klachten, die niet altijd herkend worden.
