Nieuw onderzoek naar de afbouw van antidepressiva

Samenvatting

In Nederland krijgen meer dan 1 miljoen mensen antidepressiva voorgeschreven, vooral voor depressie. Onderhoudsbehandeling met antidepressiva verkleint de kans op terugval, maar heeft ook nadelen. Hoewel de NHG-Standaard Depressie op consensus gebaseerde adviezen geeft over het afbouwen van antidepressiva, is onduidelijk of, wanneer en bij wie antidepressiva kunnen worden afgebouwd. Nieuw onderzoek streeft ernaar behandelaars en patiënten handvatten te bieden bij het veilig afbouwen van antidepressiva.
