Tongcarcinoom op jonge leeftijd

Samenvatting

Tongcarcinoom komt zelden voor bij jongvolwassenen, maar naar verwachting stijgt de incidentie door een toename van infecties met het humaan papillomavirus. De huisarts kan een tongcarcinoom vaak van andere aandoeningen van de tong onderscheiden op basis van de anamnese en het lichamelijk onderzoek. Bij twijfel over de diagnose kan de kaakchirurg een biopt nemen. Wij beschrijven een casus van een 23-jarige patiënte met een pijnlijke zwelling van de tong, waarbij de aios de diagnose tongkanker aanvankelijk miste.
