Samenvatting

Over het algemeen gaan we ervan uit dat bacteriële (ongecompliceerde) lageluchtweginfecties ernstiger verlopen dan luchtweginfecties die worden veroorzaakt door een virus. Een recent onderzoek toont aan dat die aanname klopt, maar dat het verschil in beloop klinisch niet significant is.
