Samenvatting
Context De Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) wordt wereldwijd gebruikt als diagnosticum én als screeningsinstrument ter opsporing van dementie. Een score lager dan 24 (van de 30 te behalen) punten wordt doorgaans als afwijkend beschouwd. Gezien de impact van het stellen én het missen van de diagnose dementie is het van belang de diagnostische waarde van deze test juist in te schatten.
