Samenvatting

Er is al langer discussie over de potentieel carcinogene werking van het orale anti-diabetesmiddel pioglitazone. Recent onderzoek in de eerste lijn toont opnieuw een relatie met blaaskanker bij het gebruik van pioglitazone. In hetzelfde artikel wordt aangetoond dat dit niet geldt voor een ander middel (rosiglitazone) uit dezelfde klasse.
