Misleidende marketing rond vroegtijdige zaadlozing

Samenvatting

Sinds kort is er een nieuw medicijn (dapoxetine) dat als eerste en enige een registratie heeft voor de indicatie vroegtijdige zaadlozing. Het is echter de vraag of medicatie voor deze klacht op zijn plaats is. De actuele Richtlijn Vroegtijdige zaadlozing geeft uitsluitsel.1 De richtlijn biedt genuanceerde en evidence-based informatie over de epidemiologie, diagnostiek en behandeling van deze seksuologische aandoening. Daarmee beschikt ook de huisarts over een betrouwbaar alternatief voor de eenzijdige, soms zelfs onjuiste, informatie van de fabrikant.
