Samenvatting

Over de positieve effecten van – bekende en gewaardeerde – muziek op mensen met dementie is al veel geschreven. Maar wat moeten we denken van altijd aanwezige achtergrondmuziek, het zogeheten ‘muzikaal behang’? Of van ander achtergrondgeluid, zoals van een televisie die urenlang aanstaat? Belast dat de toch al kwetsbare hersenen van mensen met dementie niet te veel?
