Als hij beelden van oorlog in de wereld op televisie zag, wilde hij helpen. Niet als reservist op veilig terrein, maar daar waar de echte oorlog woedde. Gerard Burggraaf (45) werkte bijna drie maanden in Kandahar waar hij zorg leverde en zijn kennis als ventilation-practitioner overdroeg op collega's en tevens verdiepte.
