Kritisch zieke patiënten worden veel gevuld. Vulling is echter niet altijd onschuldig. De samenstelling van beschikbare infuusvloeistoffen en daarmee hun effecten op de patiënt kunnen enorm verschillen. Eigenlijk zijn infuusvloeistoffen geneesmiddelen. Met gunstige effecten, maar ook met de nodige bijwerkingen. Toch wordt met vulling in de dagelijkse praktijk veel losser omgegaan dan met andere medicijnen. Daarom dit artikel over vloeistoftherapie bij hemodynamische instabiliteit.
