Samenvatting

Slik- en passageklachten (dysfagie) worden frequent gepresenteerd in de huisartsenpraktijk. De pathofysiologie is divers, de behandeling kan vaak niet in de eerste lijn gebeuren. Met enkele anamnestische gegevens kan de huisarts een redelijk onderscheid maken tussen orofaryngeale (vaak neuromusculaire) en oesofageale (vaak mechanische) dysfagie. Deze bijdrage bespreekt de verschijnselen en de meest voorkomende oorzaken van slikklachten, en geeft handvatten voor een gericht beleid.
