Abstract

The field experiment was conducted for 2 years to find out the effect of application of micronutrients on yield and quality of sugarcane in sandy loam soils during 2009 and 2010. The study indicated that all the yield traits viz., NMC, cane length, cane diameter and cane yield were significantly influenced by the application of zinc and Iron. Non significant response was observed with Boron application for growth parameters except for cane diameter. Data on juice quality parameters i.e. sucrose % at harvest showed significant influence due to soil application of boron @ 10 kg/ha followed by FeSO4 spray @ 2 % twice at 30 and 60 days after planting. Sugar yield increased significantly with application of all micronutrients. Regression model was developed which indicated the dependency of sugar yield on cane yield.
