Abstract
Based on the information cost approach we highlight in this conceptual paper the coordinative and cost-related impact of employing regional headquarters in managing cross-border transactions. Thereby the paper enhances existing knowledge by focusing on the up to now widely ignored aspect of how to integrate regional headquarters in traditional types of organizational structures and shows structure-based benefits and boundaries of a use of regional headquarters. Furthermore, we attempt to utilize the gathered insights to allow for an application in business practice and to provide a basis for future empirical research.
