Abstract

Various international specialist societies underline the relevance and the potential of sport and exercise therapy as a supporting resource in interdisciplinary oncological care; however, so far there are no appropriate guidelines. The German Cancer Society has therefore started the work on the S3 guideline on exercise therapy for oncological diseases. The aim of the guideline is to establish exercise therapy as an integral component of oncological treatment and to make it a billable standard. The guidelines are expected to be completed by the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025.
