I am pleased to present the June issue of the IJHBT. In no area of medical science has there been such vast and rapid progress as in the field of hematology. Simultaneous progress in the molecular biology, immunology, proteomics and genetic engineering has made it possible to design and target various pathophysiological abrrations in haematological disorders. This issue presents a review article by Dr. K Ghosh that takes us to a nostalgic journey of the milestones in the drug development.

Early diagnosis of nutritional disorders in cancer patients and consequent initiation of appropriate nutrition support plays important role for increasing the response rates to chemotherapy, reducing infection rates. The findings of the study by Dr.Cengiz Demir et al. highlight the importance of understanding the nutritional factors in leukemia patients. They propose a simple method, Triceps Skin fold Thickness (TST) for assessment of nutritional status in cancer patients. A study by Pampa Ch Toi et al. emphasizes the complementary roles of bone marrow aspiration and bone marrow biopsy in arriving correct diagnosis.

Notwithstanding our best efforts to maintain a high level of scientific and academic standard, there are always gaps, waiting to be filled up. I earnestly request our readers to provide us with their feedback and suggestions.
