Abstract
Port site implantation is not an uncommon complication following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We report a 78-year-old woman who underwent an extended thoracoabdominal resection for a port site implantation at 5 years following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The tumor was an adenocarcinoma which resulted from a dysplastic gallbladder. We emphasize dysplastic changes of the gallbladder may result in port site implantation after cholecystectomy and which may transform to an invasive adenocarcinoma. Thus, all the specimens during cholecystectomy should be removed within a bag.
