Abstract
The mentor and the mentee share a very special relationship, which has been described right from the time of ancient religious scriptures. In the surgical world, this relationship and the act of transfer of knowledge have changed over the years. This narrative summarizes author’s over 50 years’ experience of mentoring successive generations of general and plastic surgeons in India.
