Abstract

Isolatedlimb swellings without any antecedant history of trauma in a young healthyindividual is a diagnostic dilemma. The differential diagnosis can vary fromcellulitis, pseudotumor, deep vein thrombosis, isolated arterial thrombosis, lymphedema to extremely rare condition like focal myositis. We report a case of"Focal Myositis" of upper limb in an otherwise healthy individual. Theclinical presentation and the radiological features aided in making this rarediagnosis. Although biopsy or FNAC is required to differentiate it from otherconditions, the same was avoided in our case. The case was managed successfullyon conservative treatment with no evidence of recurrence.
