Abstract

Complete denudation of scrotal skin as an aftermath of Fournier’s gangrene is a vexing surgical problem which may leave behind one or both the testes hanging out from the perineum. Healing of this area by second intention not only results in a bad perineal cicatrix with poor cosmetic appearance of scrotum but also potentially endangers the survival of testes by the way either testicular desiccation or cord entrapment in the cicatrix. A new and simple approach is described hereunder, which would achieve the desired goals of both scrotal reconstruction and testicular preservation with relative ease and this procedure could be performed by a general surgeon in a modest surgical setup.
