Dr Gastambide is a dedicated orthopaedic spine surgeon, founder member of the International Group for Study of Intervertebral Approaches (GIEDA Inter Rachis). He took part in the organization of its 22 annual congresses, notably in Paris, Brussels and Lyon.

He has delivered numerous presentations on endoscopic techniques for the treatment of lumbar and cervical herniations using the latest techniques.

Dr Gastambide is an active member of numerous international societies such as the International Society for Minimal Intervention in Spinal Surgery (ISMISS), the North American Spine Society (NASS) as well as a member of several national societies such as the SOFCOT and SICOT.

Dr Gastambide is currently President of the International Intradiscal Therapy Society.
