Abstract
Two new species of Tovomita from forests in western Amazonia are described. Tovomita colombiana and T. longirostrata are endemic to Colombia and Brazil, respectively. Both species have a similar number of secondary veins, stamens and carpels, but can be distinguished by floral bud shape and epicarp texture. Descriptions, illustrations and a distribution map of the species, plus a brief introduction about the taxonomic relevance of floral buds and stamen shape for the genus, are provided.
