Abstract

The Sister-Marie-Joseph nodule is an umbilical cutaneous metastasis of a deep cancer. The authors report a case presenting in a 68-year-old Senegalese woman. This nodule, associated with probable hepatic and peritoneal metastases, was secondary to an adenocarcinoma of the transverse colon. The evolution in this patient was unfavourable. Such clinical cases are rare. Anatomopathology after fine needle aspiration biopsy confirms the diagnosis. The prognosis is generally poor, despite increasingly significant means and progress in treatment options.
