Abstract
PERMA-Profiler model evaluates positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meanings, accomplishments, negative emotions, physical health, loneliness and overall well-being. Relational coordination addresses coordination among task performers, accentuating the importance of workers’ communication and relationship quality in maintaining effective coordination. Drawing on PERMA-Profiler model, this research investigates the mediating effect of job embeddedness between relational coordination (RC) and employees’ overall well-being. Data was collected from employees of the healthcare sector in Pakistan. A total of 438 cases were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a strong positive association between relational coordination, job embeddedness, and employees’ well-being and divulged relational coordination to be a significant determinant of job embeddedness, which subsequently leads to enhanced employee well-being. The findings signify job embeddedness as an important mechanism that links relational coordination to employees’ well-being, thus making a significant theoretical contribution by linking relational coordination and job embeddedness theory. The findings imply that managers and leaders of healthcare institutions should strive to increase relational coordination since it can enhance quality outcomes as well as employees’ well-being. As the mediating role of job embeddedness in linking relational coordination to its outcomes has been understudied in the past, this study fills the research gap. Additionally, evaluating relational coordination as a latent reflective-formative higher-order construct is of significant value.
