Abstract
Youth violence off and on the school grounds is a continuously critical problem in many countries that requires serious improvement and effective solutions. The purpose of this study was to develop a model for preventing and solving the problem of youth (aged 15–18 years) violence in educational settings in Thailand. This qualitative research employed in-depth interviews, focus groups, and observations in six academic institutes and then developed the model by applying participatory action research in one vocational college, involving the participation of related organizations. The results demonstrated that the model of integration collaboration to prevent and solve the problems comprises two components (1) the principle of “2-Networks, 2-Areas,” which refers to the creation of information networks and collaboration networks cooperatively building social bonding and areas for students to display their abilities; and (2) the guideline for implementation that refers to the procedures and roles of networks, with core functions of the institute being to run eight activities to prevent and solve the problems. The achievement requires cooperation from various organizations that specialize in each part in order to prevent and solve the problems effectively.
