Imes Chiu researches on internet security policies and the history of mathematics at the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Cornell University. She has worked as a project manager implementing enterprise-wide applicant tracking systems and has also taught languages at Cornell, University of Washington and Ateneo de Manila University.

Dr Kai Jakobs joined the Technical University of Aachen’s (RWTH) Computer Science Department in 1985. Since 1987, he has been Head of Technical Staff, Chair of Informatik IV (Communication Systems). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh. Kai was the Guest Editor of 14:2: I. T. Standards.

His most recent works are Behemoth: The History and Theory of Political Sociology and Taking Lives: Genocide and State Power (5th edition). This book review is published jointly with Society and KT&P.

His BS and MS are in EE (MIT) and his PhD is in industrial and systems engineering (Georgia Tech). He has deep industrial and entreprenurial experience. He is a former president of the International Association for the Management of Technology (IAMOT) and serves as an associate editor for “Technovation”.

He serves on the Editorial Committee of the South African Journal of Higher Education as Senior Consultant Editor, and is the Head of the Department of Foundations of Education at Fort Hare.

John Magney is a recovering sociologist who now teaches (and researches) technical management at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale

His most recent book, of which there are many, is Architecture and Geometry In the Age of the Baroque, University of Chicago Press, 2001.
