Abstract
The following article is the result of research done for its presentation at the Symposium, “The Impact of Globalization on the Images of Older Women”, an Expert Consultation event that took place at the UN Headquarters, N.Y., on October 13–15, 1999. The purpose of the event was to develop a research agenda on the subject of the impact of globalization on the images of women, particularly older women, especially in developing countries.
