Abstract

The Gates Foundation has spent a significant amount of money and had a huge impact on education policy in the US. In particular, their advocacy has resulted in most teachers in the nation now being evaluated in part on the basis of student test scores. As this practice is proving to be counter productive, the Gates Foundation takes no responsibility for this, and our system has no means to hold philanthropies of this sort accountable for their impact.
