Abstract

The text aims at exploring the pressing issue of how to approach the problematic relation between youth and the future. It examines two common public discourses on youth; then it lays the question in view of the crisis of contemporary representative democracies. Finally, it makes suggestions for using normative foresight techniques in the effort to address the difficulty of engaging the youth with some long-term societal future.
