Abstract

Occurrence of right pulmonary agenesis in isolation is rare and carries a mortality rate of 50% during the first 5 years of life. The frequent association of congenital cardiac malformations with right pulmonary agenesis makes its prognosis bad. The diagnosis is challenging in those, who survive to adulthood because of nonspecific clinical presentations. Limited number of cases of isolated right pulmonary agenesis with dextrocardia in a structurally normal heart presenting in adulthood have been reported in the literature.
