Minimal access coronary artery bypass in high grade aortic atheroma utilising left axillary artery for proximal anastomosis

Abstract

The renewed interest in minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting has also led to a number of alternative sites used as proximal inflow sources, notably the left axillary artery, especially in patients with an untouchable ascending aorta. We report a case in which the axillary artery was used as a site for proximal anastomosis for coronary artery bypass in a patient with grade V ascending aortic and arch atheroma using the minimal invasive technique.
