Abstract
The integrated and differential cross-sections of the production of pairs of isolated photons were measured in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using the CMS detector at the LHC. Data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb − 1 were analysed. A next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculation was compared to the measurements which showed an overall satisfactory agreement. A discrepancy was observed in the regions of phase space populated by photons radiated at relatively small angles.
