Working group report: Physics at the Large Hadron Collider


This is a summary of the activities of the Physics at the LHC working group in the XIth Workshop on High Energy Physics Phenomenology (WHEPP-XI) held at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, India in January 2010. We discuss the activities of each sub-working group on physics issues at colliders such as Tevatron and Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The main issues discussed involve (1) results on W mass measurement and associated QCD uncertainties, (2) an attempt to understand the asymmetry measured at Tevatron in the top quark production, and (3) phenomenology of warped space dimension model.

Although we show for simplicity the quark representations above, we have also in mind application to the model [5], where the \(Z\bar{b}_L b_L\) coupling is protected by custodial symmetry in which the quark doublet is enlarged to Q L  ≡ (2,2)2/3 and e.g. \(Q_{t_R} \equiv ({\bf 1},{\bf 3})_{2/3} \oplus ({\bf 3},{\bf 1})_{2/3}\). The effects we present here will have analogues in such models also and is the subject of ref. [6]

  10. \(V_\mu^{(0)} \leftrightarrow V_\mu^{(1)}\) mixing has an additional enhancement of R for an IR brane localized Higgs due to which this mixing can be important [9]
