Abstract
Two new imidazole-based boron complexes were synthesized and characterized by multinuclear NMR and single crystal X-ray analysis. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these boron complexes were compared with analogues of reported complexes.

SYNOPSIS Synthesis and characterization of two boron compounds (2a and 2b) have been explored. Methyl substitution (meta and ortho) at the 1-phenyl of tetraaryl substituted imidazole boron difluorides have shown slightly distinct photophysical properties in solution.
