Abstract
This article provides a summary of the objectives and key provisions of the new EU Defence Procurement Directive. It considers the relationship between the new Directive and Article 346 TFEU and how the new Directive seeks to provide a procurement regime that is fit for the purpose of defence and security contracts, looking in particular at issues such as the procurement procedures available, new provisions on security of information, security of supply, R&D, sub-contracting and offsets.
