Abstract

A man had acute, painful vision loss due to nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. Although he initially had a mildly elevated intraocular pressure, he later was found to be experiencing large fluctuations in intraocular pressure. He had dilated, tortuous episcleral veins in that eye, which were thought to be the cause of his elevated intraocular pressure.
