Abstract
Subperiosteal hematomas of the orbital roof are primarily caused by craniofacial trauma. We describe a man with hematoma of the orbital roof induced by a Valsalva maneuver during coronary angioplasty. After the procedure, the patient presented with bilateral proptosis. On day 3, both eyes had decreased visual a cuity and signs of papilledema and choroidal folds. After the diagnosis was made, dexamethasone treatment was initiated. One month after onset of symptoms, the hematoma appeared completely resorbed on computed tomographic scans.
