The ellipse of vision

Abstract

The contention of this article is that the horopter, as well as the Panum fusional area, is more precisely explained as an ellipse that employs corresponding points on each retina as geometric foci. This analysis, using principles of physics and euclidean geometry, produces the theory of the “ellipse of vision.”
