Résumé
Depuis le début des années 1990, les recherches interdisciplinaires au croisement entre philosophie et psychiatrie ont connu un formidable regain d’intérêt sur le plan international. Elles ont été stimulées par la mise en place d’une association, d’un journal, et même d’une collection spécifiquement dédiée. Cet article cherche à reconstituer, à travers la profusion et la grande diversité des travaux individuels, la dynamique intellectuelle de ce qu’il est désormais convenu d’appeler « la nouvelle philosophie de la psychiatrie ». Il s’agit là de cerner les lignes de force, mais aussi les rejets silencieux qui structurent de l’intérieur ce champ d’études devenu très prolifique depuis 25 ans.
Abstract
Since the early 1990s, there has been a tremendous new interest at the international level for researches at the crossroad between philosophy and psychiatry. This interest has been supported and quite stimulated by the foundation of a dedicated association, as well as by the establishment of a journal and the promotion of a new collection. My aim in this paper is to trace the origins of the so-called “new philosophy of psychiatry” field and to reconstruct its global intellectual dynamics during the past two decades. I try to identify, through the big diversity of the individual contributions, its dominant theoretical orientations but also what may appear as some of its philosophical blind spots.
Zusammenfassung
Seit dem Anfang der 1990er Jahre wurden die interdisziplinären Forschungen am Schnittpunkt von Philosophie und Psychiatrie auf der internationalen Szene stark aufgewertet. Diese Forschungen wurden durch die Gründung einer Vereinigung, einer Zeitschrift, und selbst einer eigenen Reihe gefördert. In diesem Artikel versucht man, die intellektuelle Dynamik der sogenannten „neuen Philosophie der Psychiatrie“ zu rekonstruieren. Dieses Ziel wird durch die große Menge und Vielfalt von den Einzelarbeiten verfolgt, die man zur neuen Philosophie der Psychiatrie zuschreiben kann. Es handelt sich darum, die Richtlinien sowie die stillenden Ablehnen aufzufinden, die diesen in den letzten 25 Jahren so fruchtbar gewordenen Studienbereich von innen strukturieren.

Steeves Demazeux, né en 1977, est maître de conférences en philosophie à l’Université Bordeaux-Montaigne (SPH EA 4574). Il s’intéresse tout particulièrement aux transformations de la psychiatrie au cours du xxe siècle. Il est l’auteur de Qu’est-ce que le DSM ? (Ithaque, 2013). Il est le co-éditeur avec Patrick Singy de The DSM-5 in Perspective (Springer, 2014) et avec Jerome Wakefield de Sadness or depression?
