We hereby correct the corresponding affiliation of the research article “Rethinking Augustine’s Misunderstanding of First Movements: the Moral Psychology of Preliminary Passions” (https://doi.org/10.1007/s11841-019-00733-z) written by Prof. GAO Yuan to the contribution of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Department of Philosophy, School of Humanities. This correction of institution to Shanghai Jiao Tong University includes both the electronic version (available online on 08 November 2019: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11841-019-00733-z) and the final print version which has been published in the completed SOPHIA journal issue on volume 60, Number 1 (pp. 139–155) in March 2021.

The author’s biography is as follows: Gao Yuan, Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Department of Philosophy, School of Humanities. Prof. Gao Yuan received his Ph.D. in Philosophy and Theology from University of Helsinki in Finland in 2015. His main research fields lie in Augustine and Medieval Studies, Dogmatics and Systematic Theology, as well as the Comparative Studies of Sino-Nordic Philosophy and Religions.
