Special gender-related aspects in cardiological manifestations

Abstract

Increasing interest in aspects of gender cardiology can be seen throughout the cardiology literature—with increasing numbers of reports covering cardiovascular risk factors, myocardial ischemia, hormone replacement therapy, as well as different aspects of heart failure and cardiomyopathy. Some snapshots of the current literature are provided in this review with special focus on risk factors and their management.
