Abstract
Under the control of geographical environment and the influence of modified west air mass, the mass balance of glaciers in the Tianshan Mountains has continously decreased since the 1970s. However, the lake level has increased gradually duo to the increase of precipitation. The interaction between temperature and precipitation resulted in a normal and slightly more total amount of water resources in the areas of the Tianshan Mountains. It is estimated that this climatic trend will last to the early stage of the next century.
