Thread-oriented Message-Passing interface

Abstract

In this paper the limitations of the standard Message-Passing Interface (MPI) are analyzed, then the technique of multithreading is introduced and a stand-alone LWP (light weight process) extension to MPI is implemented. Experimental results show that system overhead is considerably diminished.
