Abstract
Ischemic colitis includes lesions of the côlonic and/or rectal wall related to anoxia of arterial or venous origin, acute or chronic. Etiologies reported in the literature are numerous, and ischemic colitis is frequently multifactorial. A well conducted etiology is essential for the continuation of support including therapeutic. It includes the examination of medical past history, treatment, an anatomical record, hematological and cardiological. The orientation will depend on age and comorbidities of the patient. Once the isolation of one or more etiological factors has been performed, appropriate treatment will be initiated to avoid recurrence or the occurrence of another more serious thromboembolic accident.
